SquareFoot Planner is a free gardening tool. By using the site you agree to these plain terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the tool.

Free to use

The planner is free for personal, non-commercial garden planning. There is no account, no subscription, and no charge to use it.

Provided "as is" - no warranty

The tool and its information are provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the site will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of it at any time.

Gardening guidance is general, not a guarantee

The plant spacing (the 1, 4, 9, or 16 plants-per-square figures), sowing dates, and companion-planting notes are general guidance compiled from university extension sources and traditional square-foot-gardening conventions. They are a helpful starting point, not a personalised plan. Real gardens depend on your local climate and frost dates, your soil, the specific variety you grow, water, pests, and plain luck - factors this tool cannot see. Companion-planting suggestions in particular are largely traditional rather than proven science.

Before you plant, verify the details locally. Your local cooperative extension office (or regional equivalent) is the authoritative source for spacing and timing where you actually live. When our guidance and your extension office disagree, follow your extension office.

No liability for garden results

We are not responsible for how your garden turns out. To the fullest extent allowed by law, SquareFoot Planner and its creator are not liable for any loss or damage - including failed crops, wasted seed, time, or money - arising from your use of the tool or reliance on its information. You use the planner, and plant your garden, at your own discretion and risk.

Your content stays yours

Any layout you build is stored only in your own browser (see thePrivacy Policy). We do not receive, store, or claim any rights over it.

Third-party links and services

The site may link to other websites (such as extension resources) and may later include third-party services like ads. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of sites and services we do not operate.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and the "last updated" date will reflect them. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.
